How do you need to balance between overconfidence and self-doubt?
When we think of confidence, we should know that it isn’t walking into a room with your nose in the air, and also by thinking you are better than everyone else, instead it’s walking into a room and not comparing yourself to anyone else.
It is dangerous when we have overconfidence, as one predicts, knowledgeable, or the ability of others, and also if they have self-doubt in others. They have proven that human minds seek evidence for a favored assumption than against it. We take seriously the concerns of critics as our egos get in our way. We also note that no one path works for everyone.
There are 2 types of people in this world, some with overconfidence and some with self-doubt. The most dangerous one is self-doubt that kills easier than ego and self-righteousness. Although to gain confidence, these people have to do some action and not sit idle. Overconfidence is a false sense of pride, and their asset comes only through the biggest liability. They can’t handle criticism.
If you want to build self-confidence, the best way is to take small steps and steady action. We have to think about the saying if you can’t run then walk and if you can’t walk then crawl. Either way, the matter will be you have to move forward and not stop at any point.
Doubt kills more dreams than failure ever will. Never define your past. We have to think of that as a lesson and not as a life sentence.
We can learn from both groups. It’s the best perspective to walk into most situations when you are overconfident. E.g., if you are walking into a job interview, we can feel that there is no way you are not getting into this job. Then we will do wonders in the interview irrespective of getting or not getting a job.
Suppose you have grabbed the job, then you have to borrow some humility off the under-confident. You acknowledge that you are new and know nothing about the job so you can learn from scratch and be capable of becoming the best employee.
Overconfident people must learn humility.
We can rate overconfidence and self-doubt to be the same as we base it on pretenses and our experiences.
Although confidence results from belief and a trigger to action, it can lead to arrogance or humility if we are aware of the act. It is easy to stumble and fall into extremes if we don’t caution our deeds.
We should stop worrying about what others think about us, as it will put a hold on doing something potentially huge for ourselves. Also, based on other judgment it will lead to self-doubt.
When you love yourself, then you will not experience self-doubt. It is human nature to have feelings of self-doubt when we aren’t feeling loved.
So, by surrounding yourselves with your fans, focusing on your goals, and practicing gratitude, you can love yourselves deeply and minimize self-doubt.
