5th June, 2002; 10.30 AM 

“Will I be going to school tomorrow… Wah! I'm so excited! But… 😟Nope, I'm scared. Let me ask amma", I said to myself and ran calling out “amma” 

“Ammu… I'm here, what happened?”, she asked. I asked all my queries and she started answering,"Ammu, you're 3 years old now & tomorrow is your 1st day at school, I won't be able to sit with you there. A teacher will be coming and teaching you rhymes and stories, you and all your new friends will listen and learn from her. You are not supposed to talk to your friends while your teacher is teaching. Your class will get over by 12.30 PM & I'll be waiting for you near the gate by 12.00 PM itself. You should be careful, should not trust any adult other than your amma/appa or other family members or neighbors." 

I listened to all her words and that day got passed. I was not asleep that night, thinking whether the teacher be scary. 

6th June, 2002; 7.30 AM

“ Amma.. Amma.. 😨, I don't want to go to school, what if the teacher hit me”, I started crying. My mom consoled me and accompanied me with school. 

When we got inside the school, there were 2 small buildings, one was located at right side from the gate and one in the left. But the left one's classrooms were in the 1st floor. That was a primary school nearby our house. My classroom was located in the right side one storey building, when we turn towards right side, the first classroom in the right hand side was mine. My mom dropped me at the classroom doorstep and said bye. I was left clueless. Went inside the classroom. 

LKG 'A', 2002-2003

There were lot of kids with the same age as me. Few were crying out loud, few seemed to be silent and scared and few were really excited and cool. I was the one among the second few category which I'd mentioned. 

My neighbor & best friend was also sitting there. Both our mom's discussed and joined us in that school. We were happy to see each other and we sat together. He was my first ever best friend and loyal for that age. I really miss that studious boy till now. We were the type of friends whom would always be there for each other. 

As the time passed, our first teacher entered the classroom. She was pretty tall, worn a saree that was pleated perfectly, had a medium sized round bindi over her forehead. She carried some books on her hand and I got scared for the first time. Then she started teaching rhymes. By that time, I realised that she was not a scary teacher and was so kind and cool natured. She taught actions for rhymes and made everyone attentive. Then she gave a small break, when we were supposed to have snacks. Amma gave me a pack of Tiger biscuits soaked in milk,  while my bestfriend got milk bikies. Teacher made us share our snacks and she had some. She asked us to drink water and rest. 

By that time, I started looking around and noticed the charts and paintings done on the wall. There were charts with the drawings of fruits, vegetables, animals, birds and also alphabets and numbers. The bell rang. 

I ran towards the gate, but it was locked, I started crying by looking my amma. When the gate opened, I ran to my mom and hugged her. She lifted me and carried me to home and asked about the day, I kept on saying all that and passed the day. 

First day of school is one of the best days of our life. That's the first day I was away for a while from my amma and appa. I first got scared, been clueless, then got calm and started listening the class, then became sad by missing my parents but was happy to have my best friend with me there. That's the only pleasant day ever of my life which made experience mixed emotions and much more feelings. 

Ofcourse, there are lot of other happy and pleasant days to remember for all my life, but this one is the very first among them. 

Kindergarten - First School Experience? 

Nope, It was the first ever ‘experience’ we got!
