HISTORY OF HOMOSEXUALITY IN INDIA:-

There are two types of history exist in India---

  1. Accepted homosexuality
  2. Not accepted homosexuality
  •  Accepted :- In temples of Khajuraho , there are images of many women erotically  embracing other women and men displaying their genitals to each other. Scholars have generally  explained this as the people engaged in homosexual act.

In Valmiki Ramayana , we know about the king DILIP , who had two            wives. He became died without leaving an heir . According to the                story, Lord Vishnu came in the dreams of the widowed queens and           told them , if they made love to each other , they would have a child .           Both queens agree with the order of Vishnu and came in relationship         with each other , this made them ,  out of one got pregnant . At last              they gave birth to a child, who went on to become famous king                    Bhagirath.

  • Not accepted:- In the case of homosexual men , MANUSMIRITI says that the sexual union between two men leads to the loss of caste.

In the ninth chapter of Kamasutra also discuss about the activities              sexuality in transgenders. By knowing about the sexual things in this          book we clearly says that this book is also not in the favor of                        sexuality.

These were  the  stories of India proves that Homosexuality exists               in  ancient times  in India. Many times they were accepted and                     many  times they were not accepted.

SITUATION OF HOMOSEXUALITY IN DIFFERENT COUNTRIES:-

A large number of country legalized homosexuality rights in their countries. Out of this, South Africa was the first country which gave right of homosexuality to their citizens in 1994. By influenced with this law , many western countries also followed this law in their countries. But in India homosexuality considered illegal and punishable by imprisonment. The consequences of this sexual activity is also gave many dangerous problems because in many such cases people could be infected by the HIV/AIDS disease ,cancer , T.B. , or any other disease, which leads the loss of life of various people.
