Attaining puberty at
an early stage of life
wasn't her fault, yet
people blame her for
this without thinking out
for a moment as this is
a play of nature to make
her mature physically.
When it happened for
the first time, she faced
it with fear as she wasn't
aware about it. Her relatives
blamed her, but her mother
has to be blamed for not
teaching her daughter about
the changes occurring within
her body.
Somehow she managed to
overcome this so called trauma
by her family because of her
supportive friends. After spending
a week at home, she went to
school happily without any worries.
The next month arrived and the
cycle too haunted her.
She shed her blood, and
she was terrified at the sight of
blood dripping out drop by drop
from her. She talked to her friend
who's a senior according to her
in handling such issues.
Her friend explained everything
to her clearly as this is a part of
biological change happening
within a female's body and it's
common to bleed at this time.
She slowly lost her fear. But
soon pain creeped on her.
She couldn't bear it, as she
felt like thousand knives
being stabbed in her lower
abdomen. She cried and
cried and cried.
She had mood swings,
she craved for sweets
and snacks, she had
cramps, and moreover
she was able to feel
her uterine tissues
being torn tremendously.
Nobody came near her to
ease the pain. Not even
her mother, her grandmother
and her sisters. Rather, they
added pain to the existing pain.
She was considered impure;
she wasn't allowed to enter
into the kitchen; she was
isolated; she has to clean
her place and her clothes.
She wasn't supposed to
visit other's home, temples
and not even pray at home.
She can't wear light coloured
clothes. She can't sleep well,
walk well, talk well nor enjoy !
She is considered a taboo.
It is considered as a shame
to talk about periods and
bleeding. She has to bear
all the blame put up on her.
Yet, being born as a girl,
she being an epitome of
tolerance, bears everything.
She accepts the criticism,
she accepts her seclusion, and
she accepts her painful life.
She walks with pain but
still smile with a fear of
blood stain on her clothes.
She talks cautiously hiding
out her mood swings. She
does her daily chores without
taking enough rest.
Amidst people who consider
female as deities, there are
people who don't worship
her considering it be a sin.
Being born as a human being
is a boon, but being born as
a girl is a blessing and not
everyone are blessed !
Women are never a weaker
sex, rather they are the ones
who make men as a stronger
sex. It isn't a shame to talk
about menses openly and
nobody can blame her for
undergo such a complicated
cycle each month.

💛There are still a lot of families in rural India, restricting girls and preventing them from attending schools and going to jobs because of menstruation.
💛Respect a girl not for her status, appearance and her attitude, but for her sacrifices, her tolerating nature to tolerate the intolerable pain, and her faithful service to her family.
💛Men are created by god only to protect women and not to pass abusive comments while her cloth stains. Remember, she sheds her blood to give life and not to take away anybody's life !
