"Health is wealth", and as the saying conveys, we must be healthy and that is the most important asset that we earn during our lifetime. One of the ways in which we can improve our health is by practicing yoga. The word Yoga is derived from the word 'Yuj’, which means 'to join' or 'to yoke' or 'to unite’. The practice of yoga has been an age-old practice that is practiced over several hundred years.

Also, this method involves creating poses and stretching our body to gain health benefits in the form of simple age-old methods. Yoga is considered an art of life and is practiced worldwide to achieve longevity and fitness. Yoga can improve strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination. It can also help with back pain, arthritis, and joint health. Slow movements and deep breathing can increase blood flow and warm up muscles, while holding a pose can build strength.

Not only this, but Yoga can reduce stress and anxiety, improve sleep, and increase mindfulness. It can also help foster mental calmness and increase self-confidence. Yoga can improve cardiovascular health, respiratory function, and brain function. It can also lower blood pressure and blood sugar in diabetics, and promote a healthy weight.

So, how can we inculcate this practice in our daily life? The answer to this question is very simple. Begin with 30 minutes of yoga in the morning, followed by 10 minutes of meditation and 5 minutes of Nadi Shodan Pranayama (alternate nostril breathing).

Yoga—an ancient practice that transcends mere physical exercise—has become an integral part of my life. Beyond its physical benefits, yoga offers a profound impact on our overall well-being, serving as a complementary therapy for various diseases. In this essay, I delve into the ways yoga can curb and control specific health conditions, drawing from both traditional wisdom and scientific insights.

Yoga can be a cure to various disorders .Some of the main disorders include the thyroid related disorders.  When its hormonal balance falters, it can lead to low energy levels, skin problems, anxiety, and more. Yoga, with its gentle yet powerful postures, emerged as my ally.Halasana (Plough Pose): As We fold our body, our neck experiences a gentle compression, stimulating the thyroid glands. This pose rejuvenates the entire system.Matsyasana (Fish Pose): Stretching our neck in this pose further activates the thyroid gland, promoting balance. This way we can practice yoga and learn to live in harmony with this simple yet amazing science of life.
