Tomatoes are nightshade family flowers that are widely grown for their edible fruits. Tomatoes, although classified as a vegetable for nutritional reasons, are a good source of lycopene, a phytochemical, and vitamin C. The fruits are frequently consumed in a variety of prepared dishes, pickled, served as cooked vegetables, and eaten raw in salads. Furthermore, processing accounts for a significant portion of the global tomato crop; products include tomato paste, tomato juice, ketchup, canned tomatoes, and "sun-dried" tomatoes, which are dehydrated pulp.

What are the benefits of eating tomatoes?

Lycopene is an abundant substance found in tomatoes. It contributes to their vivid red hue and shields them from the sun's UV rays. It can also aid in shielding your cells from harm in a similar manner. In addition to other nutrients, tomatoes contain potassium and vitamins B and E.

You shouldn't eat too many tomatoes because of their acidic ingredients and cellulose, which can increase gastric acid secretion, encourage gastrointestinal motility, and aid in digestion. One to two tomatoes a day, or 50–100 grams of raw tomatoes, can satisfy the body's requirements for minerals, plant fiber, and vitamins.
Consuming tomatoes on a daily basis can enhance food flavor and improve overall wellbeing.
