This article is the continuation of my very first article about self-love. as I have mentioned there, self-love isn't always treating or pampering yourself. it is also working on yourself, for yourself. improving yourself day by day.
in this article, I am going to share five tips that always help me to come out of those blues.
WRITING ALL YOUR THOUGHTS IN A JOURNAL. Yes, writing helps to clear all of that clutter in your brain. it helps to organize that mental chaos. this exercise can do 50% of your work and make you feel like yourself again. it can help you know about the things that you have to focus on right now leaving the rest to be dealt with later on.
A 9 DAY CHALLENGE. You would have heard about the 21-day challenge. Doing one habit for 21 days can make that habit become your lifestyle. Yes, I tried that and it worked for 50% of the time. but why 21? why not 9 days or a week instead? why not start small? challenge yourself with a task that you would otherwise never do and start doing it for 9 days consistently. take a break and challenge yourself for 9 more days. remember life is a marathon. it's not a race. start small and you can definitely reach the ending strong.
DITCH THE PYJAMAS. The purpose of these comfy clothes is to make you comfortable and that is while you sleep. Clean up your working space. Wear clothes which you usually wear when you are in an office or when you go out. Wear your favorite perfume. Light a candle, grab your favorite beverage and get to work. believe me, you can accomplish more than you can imagine.
AVOID A BURNOUT. When you work constantly for days together, without taking breaks in between, chances are high that you can experience burnout. when you are exhausted working on something, allow yourself to take a break. getting out of a burnout is as difficult as getting out of a procrastinating zone. don't let yourself go there.
THE 5 SECOND RULE. When you start working on something and suddenly your mind wanders to places you don't want to. or you just got a notification on your phone and you gave in to the temptation to see it, that's when this rule comes to the rescue. whenever you find yourself in this situation, count to 5, and no matter how hard or what you were doing just get back to work.
these tips really helped me and I hope they help you too. remember it is you that has to decide to do something which is important for you. don't let yourself be your own obstacle that you have to overcome.
