One fine morning on festival day, where I used to stay in hostel ,I and my peeps thought of going to a temple which is located near by .

As usual after all the things were done , we sat on the steps of temple gossiping with each other .There I found this fantastic view of the mini warriors going in a queue one by one. I started taking pictures of these fire ants ,then I came across this beautiful thing.

Firstly I generalized this picture in so many ways .After making some thorough study on these little creatures ,I realized I was wrong.

The ants are communicating with each other with their antennae.

Behind this picture , there is some confidential conversation going on between these mini soldiers. So how are they communicating? through antennae.

Antennae is long feelers on the head of ants .Ants communicate with them when they meet. Antennae is a sensitive part of ant which has capability of senses like touch and smell .So that in their army ,they can easily find the intruders just by smelling .And the exciting thing to know is every colony of ants has unique smell so they can easily sniff out bad guys.

But how does they communicate? Ants produce pheromones which are scent chemicals used for communicating with each other and can make trails . They smell the food they collect and when they communicate , the other ants can know the food they are collecting and they can tell each other what they have found . This is amazing, isn't it?

The science behind this colony of humble ant is an interlaced web of information among some millions of ants which belong to the same colony and known as worker ants. They can also release danger chemicals to nearby ants giving alert message to them .This theory of little creatures is similar to human societies . They have good commitment and courage among them and different skills like fighting , foraging and building . This mini creature ‘ant ’ is a beautiful example of the words hope and teamwork . We can learn so many things from the challenging life of ants.
