What Can We Do To Get Healthy Hair?

  1. Wash your hair regularly: Washing your hair regularly can prevent buildup of dirt to your scalp and also ensures oil free scalp. For oily hair wash it for alternate days and for dry scalp you can wash in 2-3 days.
  2. Use chemical free shampoos: Using a chemical free shampoo can help to prevent frizz and dryness. Use shampoos free from sulphates and parabens. These ingredients are used to create lather. It is not necessary that a good shampoo is always the one that creates more foam. Shampoo is only for cleaning scalp, so always apply the shampoo on the scalp and then towards the end.
  3. Use conditioner correctly: Conditioner is used to condition your hair and prevent it from damage of hair styling products. Never apply the conditioner on the scalp. It will help to prevent buildup.
  4. Dry your hair naturally: Always try to avoid blow drying your hair, this will really help to prevent frizz. Never comb your wet hair or sleep with your hair wet. Use a micro fiber towel or tshirt always. Be gentle to your hair, do not rub to dry them.
  5. Oiling properly: Oil your hair in a proper manner as it would help in blood circulation, promote growth and nourish your hair. Oils that can be used are; coconut, almond, castor, olive oil. Avoid mineral oils.
  6. Use a wide toothed comb: This would reduce the breakage while combing.
  7. Trim your hair: Trim your hair to avoid split ends.
  8. Drink more water: Hydrating your body helps promote healthy hair. So always drink more water whenever you are free. Atleast 3 litres per day.
  9. Eat healthy: Hair require proteins to be healthy. You can include some eggs, chicken, soybeans for proteins. If you are a vegetarian you can include more dals, sprouts soybeans and lentils in your diet.
  10. Use hair clips: Do not tie your hair tightly in a ponytail or bun. Try to keep your hair loose with clips. Avoid using rubber bands. Use scrunchies instead. You can use fabric hairbands instead of the plastic ones.

Don'ts: 

  • Avoid taking hot showers. Rinse your hair with lukewarm water and at last you can give a cold rinse.
  • Do not stress or worry. Be happy and keep your mind calm.
  • Avoid chemical treatments like straightening, dying etc. As this will only damage your hair follicles.
  • Do not use hair styling products unnecessarily.
