After newspapers and magazines, the medium which influenced the world the most is radio. In 1895, when Omani, an Italian electrical engineer, succeeded in transmitting sounds and signals from one place to another via wireless, a medium like radio came into existence. By the First World War, it had become an important tool of information exchange. Early radio stations opened in the US cities of Pittsburgh, New York and Chicago. India broadcast the first concert in Mumbai in 1921 by the Times of India in collaboration with the Postal Telegraph Department. All India Radio was duly established in 1936 and by the time of independence a total of nine radio stations had opened in the country Lucknow, Delhi, Bombay (Mumbai), Calcutta (Kolkata), Madras (Chennai), Tiruchirappalli, Dhaka, Lahore and Peshawar. Obviously three of these radio stations went to the part of Pakistan with the partition. After independence, radio developed as a very powerful medium in India. As a mass medium of a secular, public welfare nation, All India Radio has played an important role in the country's Navnirman. Apart from information and education, radio has done the work of raising the composite culture of the country and giving a voice to the programs started for national renewal.Today All India Radio presents programs in 24 languages and 146 dialects of the country.  It has access to 96 percent of the country's population.  After the introduction of FM (Frequency Modulation) in 1993, many private companies have also come in the field of radio.  But at present they are not allowed to broadcast news and current affairs.  In 1997, All India Radio Doordarshan was taken out of the direct control of the Central Government and handed over to an autonomous body named Prasar Bharati.  In fact, a decision of the Supreme Court in 1995 took the initiative to break the inertia in radio that had been under government control for a long time.  It was decided that no one can have a monopoly on sound waves and they should be freed.  F .  M .  With the second phase of the launch of more than 350 private FM channels in 90 cities of the country.  Along with this, with the advent of community or community radio centers, a new culture of radio has come into existence in the country, radio is a sound medium.  Because of its immediacy, closeness and impact, Gandhi called radio a wonderful force.  Through sound waves, it reaches every corner of the country.  In remote villages, where there are no other means of communication and entertainment, radio is the only means of connecting with the outside world.  Then it is also very cheap compared to newspaper and television.  That's why people in remote areas of India have formed radio clubs.  In addition to AIR, hundreds of private FM stations and many overseas broadcasts such as BBC, Voice of America, Deutsche Welle (Radio Germany), Moscow Radio, Radio Beijing, Radio Australia, and Ham Amateur Radio clubs (registered radio stations operated by independent groups) have been networked.  Happened
