Who does not know about Mahabharat. The epic tale of Kurukshetra war.

The war was fought between pandavas and kauravs.

The mahabharat is the longest epic poem known. Many people have doubts that really mahabharat happened or not but let me tell you more than 35 sites in the north India have their archaeological evidences that describes the ancient cities in mahabharat.

Now there were many warriors who bravely fought Arjun,Bheem,Duryodhan all were great warriors.

But there was a warrior brave strong which was KARN.

Karn was the spiritual son of the vedic deity-surya and princess Kunti, and thus a demigod of royal birth. Karn was the eldest of his five brothers Yudhisthir, Bheem, Arjun, Nakul and Sahadev.

Kunti the mother of karn attended to the sage durvasa for a year.durvasa gave her a boon that when she will call name of any God she will have a son of that God.

Kunti being unmarried just to ensure the boon she called upon the name of God Surya. beacause of the power of mantra Suryadev granted her a son. He was as radiant and strong as his father Suryadev. Suryadev gifted karn kavach and kundal which were dipped in amrit and thus making him undefeatable.

But kunti was not willing to face the world with this child as she was unmarried. so she left the child in river ganga and later was picked by Adhirat and his wife radha who were sudra and later karn was known to be sutputra.

Karn later struggled a lot for learning archery. he was refused by Dronacharya who was training the kuru princes. the caste to karn was the barrier in learning. Karn went to parashurama and appeared as bramhin in front of him and learned from him.One day Parashurama learned about the truth and cursed him that at time of need he will not able to recall his learning.

Karn became a loyal and true friend of Duryadhana and became part of hastinapur court. He was the king of Anga and also known as ANGRAJ KARN.

Though karn was at Duryodhan side but he never supported adharma. Before the war karn came to know the truth of his birth that he was son of kunti and brother of pandavas. But he was tied by the promise towards duryodhan so the promised kunti that he will only kill Arjun and not the other four. he also told kunti not to tell them the secrete to anyone.

Indradev realised that karn would not be defeated in the battle because of this kavach and kundals. Indradev then disguised as bramhim asked karn for daan of kavach and kundal and karn happily gave it.

Karn entered the battled on the 11th day. On the 17 th day the battle between Karn and Arjun takes place and as per the curse given by parashurama karn forgets his learning and gets killed by arjun.

After karn's death kunti tells the truth leaving them in shock. pandavas grieved for karn. yudhisthir was angry why his mother kept the secret and curses all women that they would never be able to keep a secret.

Atlast KARN remains a brave and courageous hero.

The city of Karnal is named after Karna.
