Sexual Violence Is Rife In India

India is not at all safe for women. Women are not safe in India, to put it another way. Rape is one of the fastest-growing atrocities in India.

Rapes have more than doubled in the last 19 years. According to government data, more than 32,500 cases were reported to police in 2017, implying 90 rapes per day.

Indian courts willing of only 18,300 rape cases in the year of 2017 and left more than 127,800 cases pending at the end of the same year.

About 4,15,786 rape cases were reported across India between 2001 and 2017, according to NCRB data. About 3 women have been raped every hour.

NCRB Report

It was rape statistics in 2017, do you want to know crime statistics against women and children in 2020? It's so upsetting that we hear this kind of news every day, every single day, and yet we avoid it… why? because it is none of our business because it does not include our sisters, wives, daughters, or even girlfriends, but it may be someday if we remain silent on these matters.

Marching with candles for a victim is simple, and it has no effect on our government, let alone the culprits. There are laws, but they are weak.

Did you know that there are over 3.7 lakh cases of violence against women? In the year 2020, 77 rape cases were reported on an average every day across India; if we add them all up, the total would be 28,046 rapes in 2020.

According to the NCRB reports, there have been 105 acid attack cases and nearly 7,000 dowry deaths, as well as approximately 85,000 cases of kidnapping and abduction, over 1 lakh crimes against children, and over 1,700 cases of human trafficking.

According to crime statistics in India, they adhere to these guidelines for primary offences. If the victim is raped and murdered, the incident will be recorded as murder, not rape, because “the most grotesque crime is murder, not rape”, according to the government. Such cases will be exempt from the rape deadline.

Following the brutal gang-rape of Nirbhaya in 2012, the government had finally taken a number of significant steps. For the first time in history, the 2012 protest attempted to flip reality on its head and achieved significant visibility.

The government amended the existing law to make it more stringent, including doubling the prison sentence for rapists to 20 years.

Rapist, on the other hand, aren't going away. They are only growing by the day.

Why are rapes occurring in India? Rapes occur all over the world, but India has the highest number of unsolved rape cases, and the victims have yet to receive justice. But the question remains unanswered… It is happening because our children and people lack sex education; they are unaware of the consequences and believe it is acceptable to rape someone in order to satisfy their lust.

Even those with a high level of education are raping their wives. You're probably wondering how someone could rape their wife. Well, when you force your wife to have a sex with you, this is referred to as marital rape. You cannot touch or do anything to a person unless they give you their permission.

Not only women. but also men and animals are victims of this rape culture. Criminals, as you are aware, have no mercy on anyone.

To put a stop to this atrocity, we must educate our children about sex, because if they understand the sensitivity of the subject, they will never blindly follow the rape culture.

I Would say, “Change the way you look at women, look at them like they are the responsibility, not like they are some objects to play with."
