Hi CM fam this is my first blog hope you enjoy reading it.
In this text Rainbow🌈 means LGBTQ. Who are LGBTQ? Before reading or writing about LGBTQ one should know that who are LGBTQ?
They are ‘Human’. Yes, you read it right they are ‘HUMANS’. When we read, hear or talk about LGBTQ most of the people make faces. Mostly, people don't consider them as humans.
When we talk about GENDER EQUALITY it is consider only between two Genders of society that is Men & Women. This is a very grim reality that LGBTQ is neglected when Gender equality is the topic.
So, the question is what is so distinct about them that they are neglected? Because of there unique choice of being getting loved or more clearly we can say getting physically attracted by a opposite gender or vice-versa it is normal. But when a a person likes/physically attracted by same gender or both the gender.
This is unacceptable. Just because of their distinct behaviour, dressing and some Personal choices they are mostly refused to get treated as an normal human being? Isn't it weard. Their representing flag consist of rainbow colours (vbgyor).
LGBTQ theme in Hindu Epics involve Hindu deities or heroes who attributes or behaviour as LGBTQ. The characters are often found both in traditional religious narratives such as the Vedas, Mahabharata, Ramayana and Puranas as well as in regional folklores. One such example is 'Ardhanarishwara' created by the merging of the god Shiva and his wife Parvati whose half right body is full male and half left body is full female body. The name 'Ardhanarishwara' means "The Lord who is half woman". Ardhanarishwara is also respected and worshipped in Hindu culture.
Ardhanari has a special significance as a patron of Transgender in India. One story is also famous about this community that Lord Rama granted Transgenders the boon to bless people during auspicious occasions like naming ceremony of child, childbirth and wedding. As a result of this boon transgenders performs on such occasions also people touch their feet and seek blessings. The point being LGBTQ community is acceptable in the majority of the countries of the world. In India it also has it traces from ancient period and are considered as important person in auspicious occasions. Government of India has also accepted LGBTQ legally.
We can see that many LGBTQ community members has also left a mark in the History of India.
Dutee Chand - (member of LGBT) National champion in the women's 100 meters event. First Indian to win a gold medal in 100m race in global competition. She also clinched silver medal in women's 100 m race at the Jakarta Asian Games. India's 1st medal in this event since 1998. Is her remarkable contribution in Sports History of India is forgettable? Then why they are not encouraged and considered as in any feild as equal to non - LGBTQ?
WHY?
Now where are the people who talk about GENDER EQUALITY? Isn't transgender a legally recognized third gender in India?
The only point is that LGBTQ should also be treated, accepted, encouraged as equally as any other person. After reading this article I feel that I don't think so that any one can give a reason to disrespect or underestimate any person belonging to any gender.I apologize if this article hurts someone's sentiment. Last but not the least, Margaret Atwood a Canadian Poet once said
"I hope that people will finally come to realize that there is only one 'race' - the human race- and that we are all members of it"
Thank You
