Aung san suu kyi is a Peaceful and strong opposition leader in Burma, Myanmar. she Was born in 1945. She is a leader of the National League party for democracy in Myanmar.
In fact, through Non -violence struggles , she brought some democracy in Myanmar. Therefore, she is also a famous prisoner and several times she had been under house arrest. She won the Sakharov prize and Rafto award (Award annually work for human rights and democracy) in 1990.

and in 1991, she won the Nobel peace prize for non-violence movements for brought democracy and human right, while she was under in house arrest and hailed as “ an outstanding example of the power of powerless “. And the fact is that Aung san suu kyi used this Noble peace price money which is US$ 1.3 million for establishing a health and education trust for her country people. Her mother’s name was Khin-Kyi. She was the ambassador to India in the 1960s. In 1960, she came India with her mother. And most importantly Aung san suu kyi is the daughter of Aung san , who is the national hero of Myanmar. He was murdered in 1947. Her father Aung san is well known as the father of the nation of modern day of Myanmar.
Aung san suu kyi husband name was Michael Aries. Basically, he was an English historian who wrote culture and history of Tibetan, Bhutanese, and Himalayan.
If we talk about Aung san suu kyi political beginning story, when people of Myanmar wanted a complete democracy after a several years of military ruled. And she is very much inspired by Buddhism and impressed by Mohandas karam chand Gandhi ( GANDHI JI) for there non-violence movements and Satyagraha in India for freedom .
After under house arrest for many years when she finally realized in 2010, then Aung san suu kyi contested elections of registration assembly of Myanmar in 2012 and fortunately, she won the election and became a lawmaker of Burma, Myanmar. After that she tried for president post but Myanmar constitution prohibits her for becoming president because she has foreign citizenship and her children are foreign nationals.
Since, becoming state counsellor of Myanmar (Burma) , her leadership has been partly defined by the treatment of the Rohingya Muslims. ROHINGYAS are the Myanmar Muslim minority community.
