Hello everyone, so, today we will talk about some current situation of wildlife trade impact due to the thread of increase in zoonotic infections day by day globally.
so, let's get started
Zoonotic Diseases are the infection which is spread through animals to humans. sometimes Animals carry harmful bacteria, viruses or fungi, or germs themselves which can spread to humans and cause savior infection. Examples like COVID-19 from Bats, Bird flu, Anthrax from sheep, Rabies from Rodents and other mammals, Ebola virus- spread from fruit bats which contaminated other aminals before the virus reaches humans. So, these Zoonotic diseases spread at a very high speed all over the world that's why banning on wildlife trade is completely a matter of survival in pandemic period and these infections also increase due to increasing illegal flora and funna trading. Illegal wildlife trade is not only harmful to indigenous wildlife but also harmful for humans survival.
And now, most of the countries looking forward to preventing a new type of Zoonotic infection by minimizing or banned on wildlife trade and meat supply-related imports in their country because they thought that its a time to ban cross-border wildlife trade due to decreasing the risk of Zoonotic diseases or infections.
The USA is the World's largest importer of wildlife whose Recently, on July 14, the USA has banned the imports of dogs temporarily from 113 countries those shows a high risk of Rabies infection.
There is one more such example - CHINA- Recently on July 18, After reporting China's 1st Human infection or death because of Rare Monkey B Virus, which is basically A type of Herpes virus. China has now started strict monitoring on wildlife trade which stops temporarily last year amid due to Corona virus{ COVID-19} which is spread through bats.
The 3rd such Example country is- GHANA- a country in the African continent near the Gulf of Guinea. Recently the three [3] regions of Ghana suffered from an outbreak of Bird flu which provoked the Ghana Government for banning the imports of Poultry and Poultry products from nearby countries and other countries like the Netherlands, Denmark, the UK, and Germany.
4th Example is RUSSIA- which has banned Animal feed additives imports from 8 countries since last year, due to its quality concerns.
