Viduthalai reflects a massive success among everyone. Vetri Maaran successfully draws out the hero who really hiding within Soori at all times. Viduthalai appears to be an unusual underdog story. There is a lot of drama, passion, and tension. We expect the hero to break out in frustration over the unfair treatment he has received, but he is ready to grind it out in order to maintain his principles. It's not fair, but the discriminatory system handles him like a pawn in a game of one-upmanship. Soori is similar to us - A guy of optimism. A guy filled with optimism. However, the system sucking his blood like a leech.

The film is set in the 1980s and is about a forest area in Tamil Nadu where a rebel force is fighting guerilla warfare against the police as they resist the entrance of an industry giant. The police were tasked with annihilating this force, headed by a man named Perumal(Vijay Sethupathi), alias Vaathiyaar, because the government wanted to brand the state as business-friendly. The film depicts the police search for Perumal and the People's Force, as well as the brutality directed at those who sympathized with Perumal.

Vetri Maaran, like in most of his other films, explores the subject of the oppressed versus the system. Kumaresan, his hero, is someone who does not believe revolt is necessary despite addressing discrimination at work from higher-ranking officers. The power arch is carefully placed to highlight the politics. But, as I previously stated, a significant portion of the core occurs in the future section, and thus you are leaving the theater just as you are about to connect with those characters. Having said that, it is not a preachy drama with no effect. The climactic journey and police torture that occurs in combination really set the stage for a thumping part 2.

Ilaiyaraaja, the legend, composed the music. Apart from Soori, Vetrimaaran wins through the casting of Gautam Menon as Sunil Menon and cinematographer Rajiv Menon as his superior officer. Chetan plays Kumaresh's odious employer, an all-too-perfect product of a system that has dehumanized its constituents. Asusual, Vetri Maran who has directed the flims "Polladhavan", "Aadukalam", "Visaranai", and “Asuran” keeps a densely plotted story moving while never ignoring the political conditions underlying Perumal's militancy. The director, Vetri Maaran is no stranger to using popular storytelling devices to address debates about caste, strongly rooted inequity, and injustice. Finally, the movie has mixed reviews from the audience.
