ChatGPT is an artificial-intelligence (AI) robot created by OpenAI. ChatGPT was launched on November 30, 2022, by San Francisco–based OpenAI. The service was originally provided free of charge to the public, with the company intending to make a profit later. ChatGPT had over one million members as of December 4, 2022. ChatGPT hit more than one hundred million active users in January 2023, making it one of the fastest growing applications for consumers to date.The service is most effective in English, but it can also be used in a few other languages with different degrees of success.

Features

ChatGPT's key feature is its ability to create human-like text in response to a given prompt. It analyzes large amounts of text data with artificial intelligence methods to produce relevant and clear responses. As a result, it is an excellent instrument for chatbots, language translation, and content generation.

The strength of ChatGPT is its adaptability. Its API allows its language processing capabilities to be integrated into a variety of applications and platforms, enabling you to use it in your own projects. By giving it more data and changing the training settings, it can also be improved to better suit the requirements of your project.

Limitations

ChatGPT has a number of restrictions. OpenAI admits that ChatGPT "occasionally writes plausible-sounding but inaccurate or nonsensical answers." This is a typical behavior in large language models and is referred to as "hallucination."
ChatGPT is only partially aware of events that happened after September 2021.

Human reviewers favored longer answers in training ChatGPT, regardless of comprehension or factual substance. Training data is also subject to algorithmic bias, which can be seen when ChatGPT reacts to prompts that include human descriptors. 

The model frequently overuses terms and repeats itself. This is due to inaccurate training data and over-optimization problems. 

How ChatGPT works?

ChatGPT communicates in a conversational manner. ChatGPT can respond to follow-up inquiries, admit mistakes, dispute incorrect statements, and reject inappropriate requests using this dialogue format. Similar to InstructGPT, ChatGPT is programmed to follow instructions in prompts and give thorough responses.The algorithm employs a method known as Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback. (RLHF). OpenAI first instructed the model using a technique known as supervised fine-tuning. Conversations were given by human AI trainers in which they acted as both the user and an AI assistant. In addition, the trainers had access to model-written recommendations to assist them in writing their responses.
