A part from general news, special reports are also published in newspapers and magazines based on deep investigation, analysis and interpretation. An event, problem or issue is thoroughly investigated to prepare such reports. Important facts related to it are gathered. Its consequences, effects and causes are clarified through the analysis of facts. There are also many types of special reports. Investigative reports, in-depth reports, analytical reports and descriptive reports are some of the major types of special reports. In investigative reports, the reporter brings to the fore information or facts that were not previously publicly available through original research and investigation. Investigative reports are commonly used to uncover corruption, irregularities and irregularities. In-Depth Reports: Deep investigation of publicly available facts, information and data and based on that, important aspects related to an event, problem or issue are brought to the fore. Similarly, in analytical report the emphasis is on analysis and interpretation of facts related to an event or problem whereas in descriptive report an attempt is made to present a detailed and nuanced description of an event or problem.

Thoughtful writing - articles, comments and editorials are published in newspapers besides news and features. Many newspapers are identified by their ideological orientation. In a way, the thoughtful writing published in the newspapers creates the image of that newspaper. Editorial forewords, articles and comments published on the editorial page in newspapers fall under the category of thoughtful journalistic writing. Apart from this, columns of experts or senior journalists of various subjects also come under thought writing. Some newspapers also publish thoughtful articles, comments and columns on the front page of the editorial page. Editorial writing The editorial that is published on the editorial page is considered the newspaper's own voice. Through editorial, newspapers express their opinion about an event, problem or issue. The editorial is not the opinion of any particular person, so it is not printed with anyone's name. The responsibility of writing the editorial rests on the editor and his associates working in that newspaper. Usually the assistant editors write editorials in newspapers. No outside writer or journalist can write editorial. In Hindi newspapers some three, some two and some only one editorial is published.

Usually, various types of special reports are written in the inverted pyramid style of news writing, but sometimes such reports are also written in the feature style. Since such reports tend to be larger and more detailed than general news stories, both the inverted pyramid and feature styles are sometimes used to keep readers interested. If the report is very detailed and large, then it is printed in series for several days in installments. The language of the special report should be simple, intuitive and colloquial. Give an example of a special report.
