Water is one of the basic amenities every person needs. But even after celebrating the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence, pure water is not available to every person. This fact has been revealed in the magazine Ground Report. From all the government departments including the collectorate at the district headquarters to the government schools, the reality was seen to be different. Where RO water is coming daily from the market for the officers in most of the departmental offices. At the same time, more such government schools were found where RO water coolers and drinking water system for normal water is also not good. School management, education department including local administration and donors are also responsible for this mess. Because all these are ignoring the real need. This is the reason why even today school children have to bring water bottles from home.

Reality of government departments To know the ground reality of the drinking water system, the Patrika team first reached the Collectorate building. The total cost of its construction is more than 22 crores. There is not one but two government tubewells here. Despite this, RO water comes daily from the market for the officers posted in more than 30 departments. There are two water coolers installed in the collectorate for the people coming here.

Government or officials did not spend the money but the bank donated Formats have been given. After this, went to the District Panchayat office and saw that the supply of RO water was found here also from the market. Similarly, the same arrangement was found in other government departments, Cottage and Village Industries, Fisheries, Silk Department, SDM Office, Tehsil Office, Patwari Office, District Hospital, District Education Officer Office, DPC Office, operating in the premises. It was revealed in the investigation that the cost of one camper of water is 20 rupees. In such a situation, it can be easily understood that how many officers and employees are posted in more than 50 departments, to whom how much money is being spent every month on account of government on providing RO water. status of government schools Cantt has the second largest Government Girls Higher Secondary School in the city in terms of the number of students. Where the number of children studying from class 1 to 12 is more than 1200.

There is tube well for drinking water source here but pure drinking water is not available. For this reason, thousands of students bring water bottles from home. And the school principal also brings the bottle from home. From which it is clear how potable the school water is. It is a different matter that when asked about the availability of pure water to the students, she was seen saying that the tank in which the water is filled is cleaned from time to time.
