We will try to understand them separately for the convenience of study here. By the way, different forms or types of communication are also very mixed in each other. It is very difficult to see them separately.

Like sometimes you call your friend by gesture. Obviously this gesture is also communication, it is called symbolic communication. When we salute our elders with respect, along with verbal communication, we also make a gesture of salutation by joining both the palms. In this way verbal and non-verbal communication takes place simultaneously. Like we are helping the non-verbal actions of verbal communication through the movement of our eyes, face, hand and tone of voice while talking to someone. Non-verbal communication plays a very important role in the success of verbal communication. Some of the most important emotions in our lives are expressed through non-verbal communication more than through verbal communication such as happiness, sadness, love, fear, etc. We can look at different forms of communication in another way. Remember, what are you doing when you are alone? You are thinking something, planning something or remembering something. It is also a communication. In this communication process, the communicator and the receiver are the same person. It is the most basic form of communication. This is called intrapersonal communication. When we are in meditation while worshiping, praying or praying, that too is an example of interpersonal communication. This is the beginning of any communication. We think first, then we communicate with others. It is clear that thinking or brainstorming on a topic or issue is also a form of communication.

The third type of communication is group communication. In this, a group discusses or discusses among themselves. Like your class is a good example of group communication. Whatever we say in this communication is not for one or two individuals but for the whole group. Group communication is used to solve the problems facing the society and the country through dialogue and debate. When various issues are discussed in Parliament, this is also an example of group communication. Similarly, the meeting of the village panchayat or any committee is also an example of group communication, where the people of the village or the members of the committee reach a decision by discussing among themselves. The most important and last type of communication is mass communication. When we try to communicate with a large section of the society through some technical or mechanical medium instead of direct communication with a group of people, it is called mass communication.
