Meta has launched its advanced AI assistant, Meta AI, in India across WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook platforms. Users of these apps can now leverage Meta AI for various tasks, learning, and creative endeavors. Initially unveiled at Meta Connect last year and powered by Llama 3 technology, Meta AI has gradually expanded globally and is now accessible in India.
To use Meta AI on these platforms:
1. **WhatsApp**: In group chats, users can summon Meta AI for assistance with planning and suggestions, such as restaurant recommendations or itinerary ideas. Once the update is available, look for a blue-purple circle icon at the top of the app to interact directly with Meta AI.
2. **Instagram**: In Direct Messages, users can engage with Meta AI by typing "@" followed by their query. Meta AI can provide information, help plan events, and generate ideas directly within your chat.
3. **Facebook**: Meta AI enhances user experience by offering additional context and information about posts in the feed. For example, users can inquire about details like the best time to see the northern lights directly through Meta AI. In Messenger, Meta AI functions similarly to its WhatsApp counterpart, offering recommendations and interactive elements in conversations.
Meta AI also features a unique "Imagine" capability, allowing users to create and share AI-generated images directly from chats. By prompting with "imagine," users can craft personalized event invites, develop mood boards for home decor, and modify images with new prompts.
Overall, Meta AI aims to enrich user interactions across these platforms, offering practical assistance and creative tools for everyday use.
On www.meta.ai you can generate custom images using Meta AI. When you begin typing a prompt, you'll see an example image. When you submit the prompt, Meta AI will generate four images based on it including the example image. You can download the generated images, regenerate images based on the same prompt, or submit a new prompt.
Note: To generate images on www.meta.ai you must log in with your Facebook account. If you don't log in, you can still chat with Meta AI.
To generate images with Meta AI:
Go to www.meta.ai in your browser.
Click Ask Meta AI anything… at the bottom of the page.
Type in what you want to generate, starting with “Imagine.” Be detailed in your prompt. For example, you can type “Imagine a tiger wearing a vest drinking tea at a cafe.” You’ll see an example image generated while you type your prompt.
If you aren’t logged in with your Facebook account, you’ll be asked to do so.
Click to submit.
Four images will be generated based on your prompt. It may take a moment for Meta AI to generate your images.
Once your image is generated, you can:
Download your image: Click the image, then click . Click to close.
Generate new images from the same prompt: Click below the images.
Change the image: Click Edit, then submit a prompt to make changes to the image. For example, try “Now add a baseball cap” or “Change the setting to the beach.”
Animate the image: You can have Meta AI generate a short animation of the generated images. Click Animate.
If you believe one of the images that was created is harmful or inappropriate you can report it. Reporting an image helps improve our ability to generate images.
