“How did he think of that?" Kids frequently astound us with their innovative thinking, and we should be proud of ourselves for playing a part in that. Imaginative thinking is fundamental for achievement in school and everyday life, and it's our work as parents to to sustain our children's natural need to be creative. Innovative activities cultivates unique reasoning, an asset when kids grow up and face the real world. By giving exercises that nurtures their creative thinking, we give our kids the power to manage life better. 

These are some of the ways to instill creativity in kids,

1. Provide them with ideas
   Children can do activities all alone, yet we need to give them few ideas involving creative activities. Recall what you did as a child. Did you keep a journal, sing and dance for family members or paint? Offer them ideas from your childhood and tell them how much you enjoyed doing a particular exercise. Kids look up to parents and tend to imitate them. Art projects offer a great source to motivate minds. There are various arts and craft books that provide detailed instructions. Buy your kids these books or get them a clay set and see what they do. If your kid has a liking to music or anything else, then give them activities based on their interests.
    
2. Give them new ideas on a consistent basis
   Get any book that helps in parenting and you will discover heaps of new ideas that nurture creativity in kids. Search the web and find relevant information. Maintain a book to write these ideas down. Whenever your child gets tired of an activity, refer this book to give them a new one.
    
3. Let them find their creativity in their way 
   When you're done giving them an activity and the needed supplies, take a step back. Let them be their original self. Just observe what they pick and where they go with them. This unstructured playtime offers them a chance to extend their imagination. Watch as they use your thoughts and make it as their own using their creativity.
    
4. Be a role model
   Mostly when you're a creative person, your child will be one too. Try showing your creative side in daily life and you will find them picking on it. Kids learn a lot of things seeing their parents.
   As parents, we generally attempt to do the absolute best for your children and pave them a way to grow up to be mature, smart and strong adults. Sustaining their creative spirits can help them throughout their life and a creative mind will prove to be their greatest asset.
