Etiquettes For Your Working Place

We work in a space or an area where many other people are working with us. We share space with them. We work together as co-workers.  So what are the rules for open working places- 

  1. Announce yourself- since you are working in an open place, do announce yourself before entering in or before talking to someone. For eg- When you enter say Good morning all or what's up?
  2. Avoid eating something very smelly- Use the pantry area or the canteen if they have one. Do not open and eat your lunch in that open area where you are working. The smell of your pickles can annoy many of them around.
  3. Avoid wearing perfumes that are too strong- Go subtle on how you are smelling. Don't wear strong perfumes. Wear light and pleasant perfumes.
  4. Use earphones- If sometimes you want to listen to light music, do not forget to wear your earphones and avoid keeping your phone on speaker mode if you are talking to someone on phone.
  5. Please avoid humming a song like- hmmmmmm lalalalala or tapping on the table, gentling singing or any other sound in your working area because some people are not in the habit and they get distracted easily and also they could not focus easily.
  6. If you want to borrow something- Don't forget to ask for permission.
  7. Since you are working in an open space or co-working area, you will hear a lot of conversations, so avoid just join in the conversation just because you hear the conversation. Be mindful of that. Don't jump into the conversation without been asked for.
  8. If somebody has sent you a voice note- Make sure you listen to it with your earphones not just opening listening to it
  9. Don't take the pleasure in sneaking up in the office affairs- Just don't randomly go to know what is happening? Who is talking about what? What is going on?- Be mindful in your actions?
  10. If any meeting or conference is coming up Don't forget to book in your space prior. Don't enter late and disturb others. Reach the room before the meetings begin.

Keep all these points in mind if you are working in any co-working space.

Make sure that your presence should not disturb anyone. Be helpful, kind, mindful, soft speaker, look attractive, talk good, and thoughtful.
