“Stress kills you everyday but suicide kills you once” This is the last message of a person to his friend and then he committed suicide.

How depressing, huh!

Firstly what is stress?

Mental Stress can be defined as something that causes physical, emotional or psychological hassle or strain. It is a condition in which human body is unable to carry out daily task efficiently.

Is Stress Helpful?

What, stress… helpful? Sounds ridiculous, right!

But stress is helpful to some extent. Stress helps you to extend your boundaries and motivates you to achieve your goals. Like stress before any presentation or debate helps you to do extraordinary and perform well. Stress before big events like interview, marriage, stage performance etc. is normal and can be helpful. It boosts your memory and confidence.

But if stress is chronic, it is harmful. Long-term stress can be caused due to today's lifestyle like heavy workload or too much responsibilities and long working hours.

Emotional problems like childhood trauma, guilt, low self esteem also add on to chronic stress. A consistence feeling of pressure and grief are symptoms of chronic stress.

Does Stress Affects Our Body?

Our body reacts to stress in many ways:
