Vegetarian diets are high in fibre, which helps with digestion. People who eat non-vegetarian food, which has less fibre, are more likely to experience digestive problems. The dietary fibre in grains, vegetables, fruits and pulses all helps to maintain a healthy digestive system.

What distinguishes vegan food from non-vegan food ?

Vegetarians and vegans refrain from eating meat. Veganism, on the other hand, is more stringent and forbids dairy, eggs, honey, and any other products made from the animal products, including leather and silk. Vegetarianism and veganism are becoming more and more popular.

A study by the Cambridge University press found that vegetarians have lower blood pressure than meat-eaters. This is merely due to the fact that plant-based diets typically contain lower fat, salt, and cholesterol contents, all of which can help to regulate blood pressure.

Why is vegetarianism preferable ?

Vegetarians often consume less saturated fat and cholesterol than meat eaters while consuming higher amount of dietary fibre, potassium, magnesium, vitamin C, and phytochemical like carotenoids and flavonoids.
