A wolf or gray wolf is a wild animal belonging to the dog family. It is larger in stature than the domestic dog. Biologists believe that domesticated dogs are the result of domesticated wolves being bred into other species by ancient mandarins. Wolves are capable of attacking and eating a variety of deer, elk, and large animals such as moose. Wolves are found in forests throughout North America and Asia. There are no wolves in South America, Africa and Australia.
Only two species of wolves exist today. The first type is the gray wolf and the second type is the red wolf. This second type is often thought to be completely extinct in wild areas. These Himalayan wolves are predicted to be a new species of wolf discovered by humans. A sable color is also present in these wild animals with a light brown color. Many wolves have white or black markings around the face. Similar colors are found in the thorax. These species of wolves are found only in certain regions of India. This includes Jammu and Kashmir and the Himalayan region.[1][2][3] These wolves can also be found in Nepal. Even in countries like Mongolia and China, these species of wolves have been found. Initially they were given the name Himalayan Wolves on the assumption that they belong to the Himalayan region. But over time it has been revealed that they can live in other regions as well.
Since these species of wolves are found in small numbers, they live in small packs. There are only six to eight wolves in a pack. A considerable amount of territory is reserved for each group. This region may extend for several hundreds of miles. Nor do they behave with great ferocity in defending their borders. Indian wolves are also found in the region where these Himalayan wolves live. But these two breeds of wolves do not fight aggressively when they meet each other face to face. They pass each other without doing anything but growling and howling.Generally, the diet of these wolves is small to medium sized animals. Large rats and rabbits are the major food species. . Sometimes they target large prey to take advantage of the opportunity. These wolves are good hunters and are well aware that if one opportunity is missed, the next opportunity is uncertain.By the age of two, these wolves are physically ready to breed. Because of this, when they are one and a half years old, they leave the group. This advance is to find a mate and establish a territory for themselves before the birth period. A female usually gives birth to four to six cubs. The mother takes very good care of her cubs in her residence for the first two months. At the end of this it rejoins its flock. As the Indian wolves and the Himalayan wolves live very close, experts predict that the hybrid breeding of these two species of wolves may give rise to new species of cubs.
