Saravanan Sivakumar (born 23 July 1975), known by his stage name Surya, is an Indian actor, producer, television host and a philanthropist.  He works primarily in Tamil cinema [3] where he is one of the highest paid actors, [4] and has also worked in a few Hindi films.  [5] [6] He has received numerous awards, including two National Film Awards, [7] six Filmfare Awards South, three Tamil Nadu State Film Awards, two SIIMA Awards, two Edison Awards and five Vijay Awards.  [8] Based on the income of Indian celebrities, Suriya has been included six times in the Forbes India Celebrity 100 list.After making his debut in Nehruku Ner (1997), Suriya landed his breakthrough role in Nanda (2001), followed by his first major commercial success in the thriller Kaka Kaka (2003).  Following his award-winning performances as a hunchback in Pitamagan (2003) and Perazhagan (2004), he played a man suffering from anterograde amnesia in the 2005 blockbuster Ghajini.  He rose to stardom by playing the dual roles of father and son in Gautham Vasudev Menon`s semi-autobiographical Varanam Ayaar (2008).  His status as an action star was established by playing the roles of a smuggler in Aayan (2009) and an aggressive cop in the Singam trilogy.  He also found success in the sci-fi films 7Aum Arivu (2011) and 24 (2016) and later worked on the critically acclaimed Surarai Podu (2020) and Jai Bheem (2021).  Film Award for Best Actor.
