Hi readers!

Today we will read about the history of fashion and how it has evolved in the past years. For thousands of years, people have loved clothing fashion. What we wear speaks a lot about us. Fashion is an expression of who we are so let's look into the history of fashion.

Fashion began the moment humans started wearing clothes, at the start clothes were made from animal skin, plants, and also bones. During old times clothes were sewed, tailored, and patterned at home itself. Then came into the picture the printed design clothes from Paris, circulated in Europe. During the early years of the 1910s, the fashionable silhouette had become lithe and softer as compared to the 19th century. During that time two most influential fashion designers were Jacques Doucet and Mariano Fortuny. Doucet was more into pastel colors and shine elements in clothes and he had a good taste in fashion. Mariano was more into different pleating designs and dyeing clothes.

Major Fashion Trends and Styles of the 1800s | Mental Itch

The Greeks used to wear long woollen clothes, both men and women. The Egyptians used to wear light clothing and Romans were the first to understand the importance of fashion and style at the same time. The people who migrated to America had no machine or any other stuff to produce clothes so they used to order clothes through ships, men used to wear leggings and suits and women used to wear long clothes with a hat on their head.

In the year 1800, Godey's Lady's Book was the most fashionable voice. French fashion had gained a lot of importance during that period. Earlier clothes had simple basic colors but with the help of synthetic colors clothes were painted into various different colors. New brighter styles were introduced. Earlier women's skirts used to be voluminous but with time it became thinner and shorter. Men's trousers went from knee length to ankle length.

The sixties and seventies have become a revolutionary period for fashion wherein women wearing trousers are been more and more accepted. The '80s have brought great fashion sense and also different hairstyles.
