Hiiii guys !! hope you guys are doing good .  I am sorry that i didn't publish blogs for last 2 days , ,but i came back with a super topic to write about .  yes , this blog is going to be about by native place  ,which is “KUMBAKONAM - THE TEMPLE CITY ” . i have more information and exciting things on kumbakonam .

It is also called as “kudandhai” . kumbakonam is a colorful town with its own temples , kulam , ancient houses and its religious significance . it is located near thanjavore  . kumbakonam is steeped in antiquity , it was ruled by some of the great kings of tamil kingdom like cheras , cholas and vinayaks ,which possibly proves the old flavour of the town. the town's streets are always filled with people not only the locals but also the poeple and foreigners from all over the world to visit the temples in the town which has mind blowing architectures and deep faiths . 

the famous temples of the town : 

Adi kumbeshwara temple is nearly 1300 years old and is spread over is 4 acres .  Nageshwaran temple was built by king aditya chola and it looks like a chariot . the town has a number of vishnu temples . Saarangapani temple is famous among the town as it as the tallest gopuram . chakarapani temple and ramanadha swami temple are also known for its magestic appearences and histories . these temples depicts the ancient stories of people who lived there which amuses everyone .

MAHAMAHA KULAM : 

 it is the physical and cultural nucleus in the town surrounded by 21 wells and 16 shrines . the ritual festival that takes place once in 12 years is very famous here . people come from everywhere to take a dip in the sacred water of the kulam . during the evenings the mahamaha kulam will be a treat to our eyes with its lights and gazing of the water . the locals spend thier evenings thier in the steps of the kulam enjoying the chill breeze and the moon light . the four faces of the kulam has various temples around it and small shops . 

the town is not only specalized in temples , it has a separate base for its food . filter coffee is very famous in the town . “ kumbakonam degree coffee ” has really set a trade mark . betel leaves , jigarthanda are also one of them . the copper,steel,brass and lead metal shops  quite make a noice . the town has many markets which sparkles during the evenings . 

There are many things about the town that can't be explained in this blog,but  it is an one good place to visit with your family to make a quality time .
