Good morning people , I hope you are all doing good . guys , did you guess what's this part of the year , i mean this week . Guysss . Navaratri 🎉is here . one of the traditional and colourful festivals of the year . oh man , navaratri always takes me back , you know . during my childhood we used to celebrate navratri in my native kumbakonam , as i said it’s the temple city . So every single temple in the town will decorate golus [toys or wooden portraits of gods and goddesses ] and always give prasadams for everybody . The evening will be so colorful . I will cling to my mom’s hand and I will not stop asking her questions about those dolls and I will just get excited about those stories . Then my parents will buy me toys and some candies which they sell outside the temples . guys , i think those candies are the best , they are not available in cities but i still can remember it’s taste . Those days were mere happiness without any stress or burden , we all would agree !
Navaratri is a hindu festival for a span of 9 days and it’s celebrated all over India during autumn . Navaratri is specially observed for the goddess devi . but not only for her , now it’s been celebrated for all gods and goddesses the word navaratri means “ nine nights' ' so practically navaratri will be for nine days .each day is specifically depicted or honours to each devi’s or goddess . There are two main navratri celebrated here . The first one is sharada navaratri , which is the main one that starts during the autumn , basically during the months of September or October . The dates may differ every year because it’s determined by some hindu lunisolar calendars according to the ancestors . This navaratri culminates by ayudha pooja or vijaya dashami on it’s 10th day , like the day of victory refering to the nine days of navratri .
The other one is Chaitra navratri , which will be by the months of march or april but this is not much popular or grandly celebrated as sharada navaratri . on the whole , these days will be the days that includes art , culture , lights and lots of sweets .
i think i have eventually briefed you guys about navratri and i'm thinking of starting a navratri blog series too . just to celebrate navratri in our style . so guys , get ready for a navratri feast and also happy navratri to you all guys . happy holidays . 🌟
