Hello all ! Today i have come with some interesting information for you all. Talented people out there create many inventions that will cause great change in this world . Some inventions come out and gets known by everyone , but some fades away from their existence itself . People who paves a way for a change in society deserves appreciation . But at first , all they get is criticism for their inventions even if it's a game changer . What i said was what exactly happened to MARY BEATRICE DAVIDSON KENNER .
MARY KENNER was known for her spectacular invention which makes a very useful product in every women's life . Yes , she is the one who invented β sanitary belt β which was improved later as the sanitary pads that we use nowadays . This sanitary-invention with moisture proof napkin came into adoption facing many societal discrimination and norms for almost 30 years . How many of us know ? she have invented that has literally became a boon of the women's life .
Before this , women's used clothes and rags during their periods which caused atmost discomfort . But Mary's invention was very much adjustable and made it more easier to wear . Her invention caught an interest of SONN- NAP- PACK company but later they cut off the deal knowing that she is an African - American lady . She invented this napkin during 1920's but she raised the patent on 1957 after when she collected the money needed for her invention . During the course of time , she developed her earlier version of her's and also the other versions that were patented before. Between 1956 and 1987 , she actually filed totally five patents for her other house hold and personal inventions.
After that she invented many things that were way more useful and adaptable by the people .In 1976 , she patented for her new invention of a wheel chair which had hard-surfaced tray and soft pockets to hold items. She joined her hands with her sister MILDRED DAVIDSON and invented toilet papers and patented for it by 1982.
Sadly , Kenner did not receive any awards or formal recognition for all her thoughtful inventions . Her inventions were worth made and her contributions were indeed helpful . she died in Washington D.C on January 13 , 2006 . she was 93 when she died . May be people don't know about her , but her inventions have carved her glory and will be always remembered by using them .
