The setting of KGF part one (2018) was the most remarkable features of the film. At every chance, the camera was pulled all the way back to give us a bird's eye perspective of the huge gold mines of kolar, buried deep beneath the earth and the millions of faceless men and women toiling away below. Slaves, actually, yoked to their back-breaking labour without pause, thampled by their cruel lord's iron feet.

It's scope was reminiscent of the old MGM biblical movies. In order to be seen and heard in KGF humans had to holler and shout.  As a result the background music had you grabbing for your earplugs. As a result larger - than - life characters lead by Rocky, take centre stage Yash.

Film crew began in January 2017 after a two - year hiatus. The majority of the film was shot in kolar, Mysore and other parts of Narth Karnataka and is set in the Kolar Gold fields. In August of 2018, the film's production was concluded. The cinematography was performed By Bhuvan Gowda, and the editing was alone By Srikanth Gowda. The film's score was composed By Ravi Basrur.

Tanishk Bagchi restored the track "GaliGali G from Tridev (1989) for the Hindi version, while Ravi Basrur composed the soundtrack album and the film's score. The film's audio rights in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam were purchased by Lahari Music for 3.6 crose, a record figure for any South Indian film. The Hindi version's audio rights were purchased by T - Series.

The song "Salaam Rocky Bhai" was released as the album's first single.

It was released on 7 December 2018 in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam along with the entire soundtrack album. The Hindi version's album was released on 9 December 2018. The song's karaoke versions were released on 27 December 2018. The film's score was made public.

The film's received mixed reviews from critics, but it did well commercially, collecting a total 250 crore throughout its theatrical run making it the highest - grossing Kannada film and cult hit. The  film won two honours at the 66th National Film Awards, including Best Action and Best Special Effects. The film received two prizes out of five nomination at the 66th Filmfare Awards South, including Best Film and Best Actor for Yash.
