Yercaud is a hill station about 33kms away from a town called  salem, lies in the servarayan range of hills in the Eastern Ghats. perched in the Shervaroy Hills in the northern part of Tamilnadu. It is at altitude of 4970 feet  above the sea level. The total extent of Yercaud Taluk is 382.67 sq.kms.  Yercaud is the highly visited attractions amonst natural lovers. Yercaud gots its name from  combination of two Tamil words “Yer” and “kadu”  which respectively mean “lake” and “Forest” .  Yercaud is the one of the low cost hill station destination in India. Therefore its called as the “poor man's ooty” The prime crop grown in this beautiful center is coffee and some species like cardamom and black pepper are also grown here.

Lake - The main attraction of yercaud is big lake.It is surrounded by bright green beauty is a treat to your eyes. Boating on the lake available at a reasonable price. 

Anna park - It is situated near the lake is known for the flowe shows held annualy in the summer month. It has a wide collection of different and rare varities  of plants and trees.

The Shervarayan Temple - It is one of the spot which should never be missed. This is a beautifully carved cave temple located in the highest point of Shervaroy hills.In this temple festival celebrated  and organized by local tribes  in the month of may.

Pagoda point- The pagoda point is otherwise known as the pyramid point.It is  built by local tribes . we can get a thorough view of the town of salem from this hill point.

Lady's seat -As per local belief,a white English lady used to spend the evenings watching the panoramic view from this rock. Hence it got its name, Lady's seat.It is also a wonderful place to watch sunset.And in dark you can get amazing view of glittering salem town.

Kiliyur falls - An amazing water fall about 3 km away from the lake.The water falls from a height of 300ft which leaves you with long breath

Best time to visit- Although you can plan for a trip to yercaud through out theyear.Summer  March to May is also good seasons to visit with temparature normally varying from 16c -30c.
