yes you saw it right plants does seduce, is it for real!!!. let me tell about it in my own style!!!!!!.

orchids are flowering plants that are grown in variety of colors like blue, red, pink, white, purple, yellow, orange etc. they are known for their fragrance and their beauty. beauty in bright green leaves, beauty in fragrance, beauty in color and just beauty in nature. do you know what does orchid symbolize, it's love, it's maturity, thoughtfulness and so on. they are also grown for Vaastu, which means for good luck.

As we know about basic science that plants does pollinate to give fruits and vegetables. we also know that pollination takes place by wind, water, insects and sometimes animals. orchids also pollinate by insects like bee. They pollinate by seducing, the more scientifically term is "pseodocopulation". where the Patel of the orchid looks like an female bee so the male bee thinks the female bee is there on orchid do they come for copulation. but we know its not an female bee rather an petal.

after the male bee sits on the flower the pollen grain sticks in the male bee ,but expectations of male bee is wasted!!!. after the pollen grains sticks the male. after that  when its fooled by another orchid it try's to mate with other orchid too but the stuck pollen grain on previous orchid sticks in stigma of new orchid and helps in pollination.

isn't nature so cunning towards male bee!!!

now lets see some facts about orchids

  • Orchids are the most attractive and diverse group  . They are widely cultivated for their beautiful flowers, mainly used in decorations and floral arrangements, but very less for their medicinal properties.
  • Unlike most seeds, orchid seeds contain no food store. This means the seeds are the size of dust, and rely on fungi to germinate, which they parasitism to obtain
  • Most orchids have a lower petal that is larger or more complex than the others. This is called the lip, and is specialized for attracting pollinators; acting as a landing stage once they reach the flowers. However, when the flower is in bud, the lip is on the upper side of the flower. As the flower opens, the flower stalk rotates through 180 degrees so that the lip is now on the lower side, giving a ‘twist to open’ effect.
