Yesterday night I watched movie on Netflix “One Day”, a story about Emma and Dexter. This movie is for those people who like watching romantic stories and not so happy endings. Where you do believe in love but you also understand that it is not a fairy-tale land or happy ending is not what you will see every time. This movie brings about different emotions of a person, be it the fear of losing someone, the fear of missing out on love, the fear of being a failure and every other human emotion. At what point you will feel happy that finally these two found what they were looking for and the another moment your happiness vanishes. One moment you feel that they are going to express their feelings now and one moment you see them drifting apart. One moment you get angry on the circumstances and the other moment on the characters. The story is beautifully portrayed in a very subtle manner. I wonder how I did not watch it earlier. But better late than sorry. Initially while watching the movie you will feel it is a normal movie of a girl and a boy, but shows other sides of the story as well of betrayal, a relationship between a mother and a daughter, a relationship between a daughter and a father. By the end you are so engrossed into the movie that you won't even realize when the tears start floating out of your eyes, you won't realize how things have changed. The movie is not only about love between two people but there are certain subtle messages as well. Like how casual or for granted we take our emotions, our relationships, our choices. We need to realize that life does not give you chances every other day and you do not have tomorrow promised. We always think that we ample of time with us or we shall do this later, or maybe tomorrow. But that is not how He thinks and the best example you could get is of current pandemic scenario. Many people might have planned many things in 2020, weddings, inaugurations, trips, vacations and what not. But as it is rightly said “Life is what happens to you when you are busy making other plans.” We thought this Virus wont come till India, lockdown won't happen in India, lockdown would be only for 21 days and what not. But with a blink of eye the year is coming to end and we are still living with COVID. Anyway movie-lovers do watch this movie “One Day”. Hope you enjoy it.
