Baricitinib is a drug regulator used for corona treatment for adult people in combination with remedesivir drug. It can be only used for emergency purpose.

Covid treatment has signed a Cipla agreement with US-based Ely Lilly Company to manufacture and sell baricitinib drug in India. Cipla has announced that  Royalty Free did a Non-Exclusive Voluntary Licensing Agreement with Eli Lilly. Along with Cipla, Lupine and Sun Pharma Suticals have also entered into a similar agreement. Eli Lilly donated 4 lakh baricitinib tablets in addition to signing deals with these companies. It is learned that Barisitinibu Central Drug Standards Regulatory Authority (CDACCO) has recently issued emergency usage permits. It will be used in combination to reduce the need for Covid patients who need to be given oxygen. Cipla MD Umang Ohra said the company had entered into a royalty-free agreement with Eli Lilly to make essential medicines available to Covid patients at affordable prices. While negotiating with more companies to bring the generic type baricitinib drug heavily into the market. Luca Vicini, Managing Director of Ely Lilly India, said that they will also enter into a voluntary licensing agreement with them. Natco has applied for a Compulsory License to provide this patented drug at a lower cost. Natco can only sell if a compulsory license is obtained. But things don't go as planned. So Eli Lilly went one step further and signed royalty-free deals without giving them to Natco. Due to competition Barisitinib will available at a low price. And Natco has released the Angie tablet of 4mg for just Rs 50k.
