Just a few months ago we were made to believe that we had overcome covid-19, triumphantly celebrating India's flattened covid graph. We falsely agreed we are in a much better situation compared to last year.
Now, three months later those words ring hollow as we are again at crisis point. Social media figures also undermine the threat we Indians are facing due to an uncontrolled surge in the infection as well as the negligence of the authority to take proper steps to curb the ongoing havoc.
A couple of reasons are because we failed to take all the precautions required to break the chain and stop the spread of this deadly monster.
More than being dangerous, it's INFECTIOUS!
As the cases in the second wave are rising at an alarming rate, this strain seems to be more difficult than the one in the previous wave and so is the treatment at hospitals.
We have all become bitterly aware of the healthcare infrastructure in times of need.
Owing to the number of patients, hospital facility is impossible to come by even for the rich and affluent who anyway find ways to get through any situation by the use of their power.
clearly, there seems no happy ending of this calamity without vaccination for every Indian.
And we must keep this in mind. Our complacence led this bad to get worse.
What we SHOULD do apart from maintaining social distance, using a mask, and taking other necessary precautions is getting a vaccination. It should be the primary step that should be taken by every individual. We must not hesitate to get jabbed since this is the only thing that is going to get us out of this catastrophe.
Here is a scribbled version to brief it up in form of a rhyme..
As if it was known,
Life got lost in the unknown,
Putting life on hold
Covid came along in the cold,
Started as a distant nightmare
Gradually becoming warriors despair,
Oblivious are those, behind the race
Anyway informed are affected at the SAME pace,
Leaders are playing in need of leading
There's no happy ending…there's no happy ending,
Unheard are the cries of poor
They are the majority of voters,
The plights we are facing
Far more than it's showing,
Time and again, the same pain
Inability to provide any gain,
Anxious souls, worried faces
Beyond their everyday tales,
Failure around..ambulance sound...
Poor grieving, affluent pleading...
There's no happy ending..there's no happy ending!!
