HOW TO TACKLE DEPRESSION
Depression can be defined as a mood disorder. It may be described in details as feelings of sadness, loss or anger that interfere with a person's everyday activities. It is fairly common in today's day to day life. People experience depression in different ways, as it interferes our daily routine, resulting time loss and lower productivity. It can influence relationships and can lead to complicated health conditions.
HOW CAN WE IDENTIFY THAT WE ARE FACING DEPRESSION
Feeling low at a point of time is absolutely a part of our life. But feeling sad and upset or hopeless on a regular basis, can be a sign of depression. Major depression can be caused due to a variety of symptoms
Men, Women and children can experience different symptoms of depression.
Some symptoms in men are identified as -
1) Mood changes, irritability, restlessness
2) Emotional variations like feeling empty, sad as well as hopeless
3) Behavioral changes, losing interest in favorite activities, feeling tired, thoughts of suicide, engaging in high risk activities
4) Insomnia, Fatigue, headache, digestive problems
Some symptoms in women are identified as -
1) Mood swings, irritability
2) Decreased energy, tired outlook, increased cramps, greater fatigue
3) Change in sleep patterns
4) Completely changed behavior, withdrawing from social activities
CAUSES OF DEPRESSION
Depression can be caused due to many reasons. There are many circumstances that might lead to depression. Not everyone is having a similar lifestyle, neither everyone is dealing with the same situation at that particular point of time.
Some evident causes of depression among most of the people are-
1) Age - as a person's grows older they become more responsible, it comes along from within and they have to tackle different situations which can lead to their depression
2) Gender - women may face more depression than men maybe due to hormonal changes but nothing is proven medically till now.
3) Loss - financial loss or loss of someone close to them can lead to depression
4) Abuse - may be related to physical or mental abuse, any person may feel low if they are treated the way they are meant to be
5) Illness - any sort of illness that makes a person worried can make the person depressed
6) Conflict - conflict can be from within a person or from outer world if the person has to lead a life related to a lot of problems
7) Major life events - a person can feel low or feel hopeless if that person doesn't accomplish their life events which they desire
8) drinking alcohol or intake of drugs in a intolerable level can lead to much depressed
There are a lot of other reasons that can lead to depression and are yet to be identified.
HOW CAN SOMEONE DEAL WITH DEPRESSION
There are no such tests which can identify depression at their first instance. If one faces depression they can understand it with the symptoms and can meet a psychiatrist or take advice from any elderly person.
Some common natural ways to feel better during depression and eventually cure from depression are
1) Set a proper routine to get checked up by any psychiatrist.
2) Meet a doctor before taking medicines.
3) Set goals which you want to succeed.
4) Daily exercises can boost chemicals called endorphins. Regular exercises seems to encourage the brain and think positive.
5) Get enough sleep
6) Eating healthy will help you feel better.
7) Take responsibilities at home and at work keep yourself engaged and motivated in positive things.
8) Challenge yourself, push yourself to the edge and start to work on yourself, start working on your mindset.
9) Do something new and creative, keep yourself engaged in some work which pleases you.
10) Try to have fun in your life, enjoy you life, plan things you used to enjoy beforehand.
Depression can make your life dull. You have got only one life so enjoy it rather than repenting on whatever you had done. If you fail at something try doing that again rather than being depressed.
