It isn't about ghost riders as you think but you will get it while reading the story. Couldn't come up with a title for this.
‘Right man, right.’
‘This Right?’
‘No, the second right.’
‘Alright.’
‘Actually, it was the first right.’
‘Are you kidding me?’
J is looking at his phone for directions at the back of the bike ridden by T who is taking a U-Turn to go to the actual right that the former thought wasn’t.
‘We could take a shortcut. Maps guide even if we are on the wrong route,’ J suggested
‘It is too late, and we have been going for so long,’ said T wearily.
‘I will ride the bike,’ said J.
‘Can you ride?’ asked T.
‘I can try,’ said J.
‘Not the right time,’ T responded.
‘Take the third exit from the roundabout. That’s a shorter route.’ J said looking at his phone.
‘Are you sure?’ T asked as he took the round-about.
‘Yeah, I think,’ J replied looking at the phone. ‘And… it’s dead.’
‘Oh man,’ said T riding towards the third exit.
‘We can ask someone,’ said J.
‘What on earth J, the road is empty. Who should we ask? Cops and robbers?’ exclaimed T looking around while still riding at the dark and lonely road.
‘Hang on,’ J said pointing at a bus stop on his right. ‘We have passed this road.’
‘What do you mean?’ T asked looking at the stop.
‘We passed this road at the previous exit. How come it’s still there?’ J said.
‘Man, there’s nobody around,’ T said looking around and riding slowly.
They heard the siren of a police car from a behind and a frightened T increased the speed of the bike.
‘T, what are you doing? It’s just the cops. They can help us,’ J said.
‘I am not having a good feeling about this,’ T said speeding up even more and J held on for support.
The siren got louder, and the car was right behind their bike. But T continued speeding up and J turned back and forth.
‘They are asking us to stop. Don’t you hear that? Stop the bike,’ J said.
‘I can’t. It’s out of control,’ T shrieked.
‘They are right behind us,’ J panicked.
The bike moved faster than usual and the police car was moving at a uniform speed but closer. It moved too close to the bike that it went right through them to their shock and then it was right in front of them but they were unaffected by the car. They saw the car moving in front of them and then slowly out of their sight. T stopped the bike and turned to J.
‘What have we become?’
