Perks Of Wearing A Mask

As the title suggests, I would like to share some perks of wearing a face mask; not the practical aspects like the pandemic but otherwise.

Ever since the pandemic has hit the world, we are all faced with no option but to wear masks while stepping out or for any gatherings or while travelling. Even if there isn't social distancing, or wearing gloves or sanitising frequently, masks have been compulsory. Of course it is for safety but a major disadvantage is one wouldn't be able to identify the other with the mask and isn't sure if they are responding or not and because of the mask, we could only see the eyes and not sure how the other part of the face looks.

We get so used to seeing the masked face that we wouldn't be able to identify that very face without a mask. Even while checking out, we only see the eyes which might attract us but can also be misleading as we aren't sure of the whole image when unmasked. Also we aren't sure of the expressions the other make and it is really stupid to smile behind the mask as the reaction is pretty blank.

Your reactions are unseen which is a disadvantage but it can also be a really good advantage. How? You are free to express yourself without worrying about how others are going to see or respond. You can just do it under the mask irrespective of the surroundings and that leaves the others confused as they wouldn't know our actual reaction.

That is one major perk of wearing a mask i.e., You Can Express Freely. For instance, if you are excited about something and want to show the same but couldn't because of the surroundings, you can just do it under the mask. Be it grinning, or any expression that tends to be unusual in what is said to be a normal environment. You can blush under the mask when someone mentions about your crush or the person you like. However, these aren't expressed consciously and if it happens but you don't want others to see that, the mask is there to the rescue.

All these mentioned examples are taken from reality i.e., my reality as it has happened to me many times. Whatever I wanted to express which can be unusual to the outside environment, it can be done freely anywhere and all it needs is a mask. And with the help of the mask, you can express any emotions which occurs in the sub conscious or even unusually such as being hyper.

So Mask Up and Express Freely.

Thank you so much for reading. Do share some other perks of wearing masks in comments below.
