Night Life In City Centre

Hey folks, once again apologies for being late. There is no excuse for it, I know but then it is not only about finding time but also the headspace that matters. You can't force yourself to write when you clearly don't feel like and that also affects the writing and the consistency in a way. Not every time do you get to feel as a lot is happening at the moment and it has to be balanced. I know I have been saying the same thing over and over again. Anyways, no more these explanations and now let's head to the blog.

As you all know that I am currently studying abroad and it's been a month since I landed here. Because I don't have classes every day, I stay at my relative's place and I go and come every time. It is also in a different part but not far from where I currently stay even though I have to take a train to reach the city and a bus to reach the Uni. I go early in the morning to avoid traffic even though the class is in the evening. But the return is the hard part, especially to the station.

The class ends at 8 pm and your train is at 9.20 pm but the bus from the Uni is at 8.50 pm. Now this might seem like a good timing but that's not the case here, it also depends on the traffic and when the bus arrives. You don't necessarily have time to walk from the stop to the station. You got to run or else you miss the train. I have been lucky to not have missed the train that delayed due to service disruption when my bus reached the station at exactly the time the train was supposed to leave. Sometimes you reach the station early is there is no traffic. But again, you don't get lucky always. Because, it is night the bus services are quite less and is not something that comes every 20 to 30 minutes. Last day after class, I was waiting for the 8.50 bus at the campus stop along with some others. We could see the time of arrival and how far it is. So my bus which was supposed to come at 8.50 pm chose to come at the next time slot i.e., 9.20 and that is when my train was leaving.

It was 9 pm and I was freaking out as I didn't want to miss my train as the next one is going a totally different route. There was time to reach the station but it is the train that should stay. I booked an uber which came in less than 3 minutes and he went as fast as he could on my request although there was a traffic and the main route towards the station was blocked and so had to go the opposite way. I ran towards my platform as fast as I could and you know, you don't always get lucky, you don't always get your way. I missed the train.

Was I upset? No, but a little concerned. I asked the station master about the next train and he said it would be an hour i.e., 22:17 pm. So an hour of having nothing to do. Since there was time, I walked to the City Centre to experience the nightlife. But that's not why I went there. I was hungry and I remembered seeing a McDonald's from the taxi and thought of dining there. But it was getting late and only takeout options were available and so I bought a light meal (nuggets, fries and a drink) and had it while sitting on a bench. It wasn't dark and lonely. The Centre was very vibrant and it had rained an hour ago and was chilling because of the same. There were people walking around, cycling, waiting for their buses, sitting on benches and many more. Even though I wasn't involved in any of these, I felt like I was a part of it. I was eating McDonald's and still enjoyed the vibrant nature of City Centre at night. Feeling the cool breeze, listening to music on my phone with AirPods plugged in.

I enjoyed the solitude and it is not a new thing but it felt good especially that night. I didn't get to explore the city and the only time I went there was when I had classes. I have been to City Centre at day when I came early and there was time and I got to buy coffee. But at night, it is something more, night has always been more colourful and alive than the day; again it depends on the place.

I have to move to the city because I didn't come all across the world to just go to the Uni, attend the class and leave. I want to explore, do anything and everything possible. I know it is going to be hard but it will be worth it and more fun and liberal than staying where I am currently staying (it is good and comfortable but I want to step out of my comfort zone and do things on my own.)

I returned to the station and to my platform where I was all alone, so was the coach. There were one or two in the platform but they entered a different coach. And I was fine with it. Felt like a movie scene, wish I could shoot something like this.

Anyways, that's all for now. I know this is a lot of information and this might seem nothing to the readers but it means a lot to me. I will try sharing more blogs about my experiences and thoughts about being where I am, and many more. That's all for now. Thank you for much for reading. I will see you in the next one.
