All of us certainly face the dilemma of knowing who we are and what we want. Especially when it comes to making choices of meals, careers, universities, and so on. And it drives us crazy and confused especially when there are a lot of options and when we aren't sure of what we really to discover our true self.
Well, I face this dilemma quite often even with the little choices but that shouldn't happen at all when it comes to big life decisions as that defines you in a good way or a bad way. It is fine if we are sure of it and we know if it is good for us. But what if we are having second thoughts? Or not sure of it. It is said that if we are confused, we shouldn't take that chance and that we should take only if we want that. And what if a part of it wants and a part of it doesn't? That is quite tricky.
I believe that a simple solution to this tricky situation is to find who you are not and what you do not want. Yes, you heard it right! It is the other way round i.e., you have to turn the tables to be sure of who you are and what you want. If you are not sure of who you are and what you want, find out who you are not and what you do not want. And in that way, you get to know who you are and what you want.
Even while making life decisions, if you aren't sure of knowing what you want in that, find out what you do not want and remove them so that you get to find what you want hiding among the things you don't want. And when you find it, make sure you don't lose it because once you lose it, it is very hard to find it as that is what clearly defines you; the decisions you make and the chances you take clearly shapes your character and personality. Initially, we face the peer pressure only to realise that we don't enjoy it and did it because everyone else was doing it. But my making this mistake makes us realise that it isn't what we want. It is not about what others are doing or want to do, but it is about you want to do and that makes YOU. If you are doing what others are doing, what is the difference between YOU and Them?
