It is my best friend's birthday. So Happy Birthday to Him! Well I didn't really have any plans of writing about it but then here I am doing the opposite. Well both of us are in different cities so meeting isn't possible. The last time we met was eight weeks ago in Bangalore, which was our Finale and that didn't mean it was our last meeting. I texted him and also called him to wish him. And that's the strangest thing ever. I am talking about the latter. 

In spite of being best buddies, we don't really call often and prefer texting more than calling. The only time we call is enquiring about each other when we plan to meet in person, i.e., if we have left or how long we would take to reach the place we planned to meet and rarest of all, any sort of emergencies. Otherwise, we prefer texting more and that doesn't mean we text when we are together. If we are meeting in person, we don't touch our phones till it's time to leave. And we haven't done video calls either. Strange right!

And today when I mentioned the same to him, he said we should try calling as well along with constant texting so yeah, will be trying that as well. If not too often though, at least once in a while would do. 

Another special thing or strange thing about us is that despite knowing for five years, both of us were present during each other's birthdays only once. He was present on my birthday during the first year of college and I was present on his birthday during the final year. The other times we weren't present was because it was a holiday or either of us were absent (mostly him) and also we were in different cities in the last two years. 

However, the birthdays where we were present, were really good. Not the day maybe but certainly the surprise. Well we were roommates in the final year and that was how I was present on his birthday and at midnight I surprised him with a brownie with small candles. He did the same on my birthday as well during the first year and the only difference was that there was a group involved initially but not in the final year. Well we aren't sad that the group had crumbled but we were glad that through this horrendous situation in college and outside we survived and did our thing and had lots and lots of fun. 

Happy Birthday my Partner in Crime and my First Friend in Bangalore. I really hope to see you soon. When? Where? and How? Only Time Will Tell. Until then, take care and keep Tourin'.
