I am certain that many of us deal with this problem of temptation i.e., a strong urge of doing something even after knowing that it isn't right (at least for the moment.) There are various kinds of temptations that we deal with on a day-to-day basis and controlling them or suppressing them is indeed a challenge.
The term ‘temptation’ can suggest a negative connotation and the motive of this blog isn't to condemn it or glorify it either. The after effects of certain temptations are you tend to regret it and vow not to do it again but then later on, you find yourself doing it yet again, and then regret it and vowing not to do it again, the cycle continues and later it becomes very stale because of the exploitation of the temptation.
Temptations cannot be completely annulled but it certainly can be controlled in a way. We have all have temptations to eat something or to do something, whatever it maybe there is always a bit of temptation in almost everything.
For example. you get to have a tendency to eat junk food and when you eat it, you feel you shouldn't have and vow not to do it but then a week later, you find yourself having junk food yet again and the cycle continues.
That's the temptation cycle I would say so how to resist or control the urge? What I do is procrastinate i.e., tricking the heart saying that I will have it later or do it later and when later comes you don't feel having it or doing it as you wanted to do before. That's how it worked for me, maybe not always but it does work.
The best way to resist the temptation is to procrastinate in that way, you can keep it in control. Having said that, you shouldn't be too controlling with your temptations (well some of them) and it's okay to be little free and easy going about it especially with the food. Also remember to draw the line of resistance and be aware of it. As long as it doesn't involve harm with oneself and the others, it is fine to a certain extent.
Well, that's all for the blog, thank you so much for reading and I will see you in the next one.
