OTP SPAM SCAM
Theft of money through internet is on the rise recently. It is shocking that even the most cautious can be deceived.

Thieves are perfecting their methods.

Kotak Mahindra Bank OTP SPAM SCAM
He lost ₹25,000 from his account when he got shocked and clicked and gave the OTP when he received a short message (SMS) link on an acquaintance's mobile saying that his Kotak bank account had been disabled.

It should be noted that the victim is cautious but the situation has arisen due to a slight carelessness / some other memory as the details came in the bank name.

Two mistakes he made
After receiving such SMS, he did not first check whether his bank account was correct or not.
Clicked on the link in the video and gave the OTP there.
As it was the usual Kotak Mahindra Bank website, no doubt came and registered the OTP.

As the OTP was wrong both times, he stopped suspiciously and restarted the phone, but in the meantime, the money was withdrawn.

A complaint has been made to the bank and cybercrime but still no refund. SMS like this is still coming.

Carelessness
If you look at the link, you should be suspicious because it is not a regular link, but because the bank details are primarily visible to the eyes, everything else becomes secondary.

Everyone should understand one thing, when the mind is not clear / careless we get cheated.

No matter how cautious you are, a second of carelessness can leave you in trouble. So, don't be so optimistic that I won't do this. It applies to everyone.

No OTP No Link: 

Do not under any circumstances click on the link in the SMS and do not forget to give the OTP to anyone. 100% bank will not ask your OTP details.

They will talk and tell/ask for details just like from a bank. Do not give OTP no matter what is said or asked.

Now they send SMS as same as from bank ie VD-HDFCBK. OTP SPAM SCAM has gone to the next level.

Calls are also from the customer service center. Installing Truecaller App can avoid some damage.

They say, don't install any app on mobile. Even the slightest carelessness can empty a lifetime of savings. Warning!
