Because this is the Pride Month, let's talk about some BL series or Boy love series. One of my favourite series which caught me into BL is SOTUS -The series. My first ever BL Drama.
So, SOTUS stand for Seniority, Order, Tradition, Unity and Spirit. This is an engineering college based drama where all students must undergo the SOTUS systems where senior test junior, give them tasks and ask to fullfill them in order to earn their gear badges. On that freshmen orientation day the two leads Arthit and Kongphob meet and their journey started.
It’s a story about third-year senior student Arthit, who is the head hazer on the S.O.T.U.S system, giving the freshmen task to complete, on the other hand Kongphob is a freshmen who just admitted in the stream. The day Kongphob enters into head hazer Arthit's life as a freshmen they starts collide constantly. Their personality is also exact opposite. But slowly and gradually when the drama keeps going, their relationship improve and it turns into something rather than senior junior relationship. It became more serious and sensuous as they progresses further.
In this series first Kongphob was really into girls or he like girls as you can say and Arthrit have no idea what his preferences is. He was confused. But when stories goes further this drama clearly reflects that "Fall in love with a person is more important than the gender ." Kongphob really falls for Arthit. When Kongphob confess about his feelings towards Arthit, it's really a process and it takes time for Arthit to accept that. In the end of the 1st series, when Arthit finally confess how he feels about Kongphob and accepts his proposal, Kong’s best friend Aim questions Kong about his sexual preferences as he knows that Kong like girls. But Kong just casually replies that "he is not into men, he only like his P’Arthit”. For me that moment was absolutely beautiful. If you think about this thought it actually make sense, it's not that hard to love someone. I really was screaming on that lines and I Kidd you not.
Labels really doesn't matter when one is in love. This drama just simply clarify the fact that Love is Love. You can just love anyone without any labels. It also has a second series which is also so good. In second series , writer shows the maturity in their relationship and how they grow. If you are not uncomfortable with LGBTQ or Boy Love series, I hope you can just watch it.
