Focus On “Being Productive” Instead Of Busy

Everyday we see so many new things and try to learn something from them. But many of us may fail putting them into practise. Productivity is not only about gaining knowledge but about application of that knowledge into practical situations that we face in our day to day life. These are few points helped me being productive and may help you too:

1.U are more important than anything

Everyday morning as soon as we get up most of us have the habit of checking mails, messages on our mobile phones,it simply drains your energy and feel good vibes.Rather than that use your morning to do what is most important of all. Do something which makes you feel more fresh like meditation, yoga or working out or may be a chit chat with your loved ones.Help yourself to kick start your day with positive energy.

2.Inspiration is the key

It’s very important for us to find out 1 or 2 ways which make us inspire.

It may be listening to good music or audio books or reading a good book or knowing about great personalities.I get motivated by listening to music and with that my mind becomes fresh.Inspiration is a great drive which helps us achieve our goals.

3.The habit

Following a daily habit which sends a sign to your mind that you are ready to do work or getting things done makes things better..It can be cleaning up your work area or lightning candles or scented sticks or arranging your workspace etc.

4.Success is systematic and not automatic

We all have a habit of spending endless time on social networking sites which disturbs our daily routine. It will be more helpful for us if we can set a time period to check our personal emails, facebook, twitter etc.So being systematic is a must!

5. List of action items

Everyday our work schedules, work type may differ,so based on that we have to list our actions of that particular day on a piece of paper which makes it easy to complete them.

6.Prioritize the list

Listing action items is not just enough, understanding them is major. So try to prioritize basing on importance and urgency (high and low).

7.Doing in effective way

If you feel your task is a bigger one or a difficult one,try to simplify by breaking them into smaller tasks.Complete it finishing one by one.

8.Time for break

Scheduling breaks in between your work makes your mind get recharged. It is really important to check what you want to do in that time.It might be having a cup of coffee or having a bite of snacks or talking with a friend or taking a small nap or going for a short walk.

9.Check at the end

Understand the things you have completed and write about tasks that you have stuck in between or you have found it difficult to complete. It is not always important to cross mark for the things you have done but to understand how far you have come and also write down accomplishments you made, make them visible. This makes you motivated.

10.Why

Question yourself : What is your why? Why do you want to be more productive? For me personally, I like getting things done in more effective manner which makes me happy the whole day and becomes inspiration for the next day to kick start again. If your work is rewarding by itself, why can't you reward yourself by watching a movie or eating your favourite dish or meeting your best friend right after the task is completed.

This worked for me, I have written this out of my experience and hope it helps you all

Being productive can be enjoyable and rewarding!!
