But the first question coming to your mind would be what are Expressions?
It means a word or group of words having a particular meaning or used in a particular way.
Here are some Expressions you should use in your daily professional conversations:
1. TO HAVE IN MIND (To have a plan, an idea about what to do or what you want)
Examples:
*Do you have a budget in your mind?
*Do you have a plan in mind?
*Do you have a strategy in mind?
*What you have in mind?
2. UPFRONT (In advance, before)
Examples:
*The owner has a budget in mind, they don't necessarily communicate that budget upfront (in advance or before).
*You need to pay upfront.
*We need 50% of the money upfront.
*I think you necessarily have a plan in your mind, upfront.
3. TO GO OVER BUDGET (To cost more than the amount allowed in the budget)
Examples:
*If you go over budget, it's not acceptable.
*The house is half-finished and it's already over budget.
*The boss is angry because we went over budget.
4. WAY (a lot of too much of something)
Examples:
* It's way over budget.
*Is German similar to Russian? No, it's way different.
* It's way too hot today.
* This project is way over budget.
5. TO CUT COST (to lower the budget, to lower the price)
Examples:
* In an effort to cut costs, they fired a lot of employees.
*We have to do all the planning again, to cut the cost.
6. PUT IT (means to say it; to express it, in a certain manner, in a certain way)
Examples:
* It's a nice way to put it.
*Well! I don't know how to put it.
*Let me put it to you this wayβ¦
*How should I put it? I think you should keep shopping until you find the right dress.
7. A DAGGER TO THE HEART (it hurts deeply; you suffer a lot)
Examples:
*Cutting cost, these words for a designer is a dagger to the heart.
*When he found out that she was in love with another man, it was a dagger to the heart for him.
*When she found out that the promotion is not given to her, it was a dagger to her heart.
8. MISCONCEPTION (an incorrect view; a wrong belief because of not understanding something)
Examples:
*What are some misconceptions about your jobs?
*The idea that money will bring happiness is a misconception.
9. BEHIND THE SCENES (what you don't see; in private; behind public view)
Examples:
*They seem happy together, but we don't know what's going on behind the scenes.
*The project is successful, but behind the scene, there were blood sweat and tears.
10. BLOOD SWEAT AND TEARS (hard work with a lot of effort and suffering)
Examples:
*The project is successful, but behind the scene, there were blood sweat and tears.
*After many years of blood sweat, and tears, he built a successful company.
