Curd is a traditional food that is used as a part of daily diet. Curd is fully of many health and nutritional benefits.A cup of Curd daily has many health benefits. Curd is an indispensable ingredient among health conscious people.  Its benefits are many. It is essential to know about its benefits.Curd is a rich source of calcium. Calcium not only strengthens bones but also improves bone density.  And Curd prevents the build-up of cortisol, a hormone that leads to obesity and high blood pressure. The active compounds found in Curd fight disease-causing germs and protect the gut and intestines.

    Homemade curd is better than bought curd. Calcium, Potassium, Phosphorus, Magnesium which our body needs,can be obtained from Curd.Urinary Tract Infection is a common issue, especially in women.When a women suffers from UTI,she may feel a burning sensation while they urinate.Having a bowl of Curd and Sugar in the morning is a good way to reduce the burning sensation.Adding fenugreek powder to curd is good for problems like diarrhoea, vomiting after indigestion, gas trouble and loss of appetite.  It helps prevent osteoporosis, boost immunity and reduce high blood pressure. 

       

Curd is used in many ways  for skin care.  It has no side effects and can be used with confidence.  Applying curd directly on the face darkens sunburned skin and relieves fatigue. Curd  helps in exfoliating the dead skin cells and making the skin smooth and glowing.  Applying curd with turmeric,and honey on the face increases the glow and colour of the skin.

      

   Curd is also used for hair care. Grind soaked fenugreek seeds and apply it on the head and wash it off after 20 minutes.  Prepare the mixture by mixing two teaspoons of lemon juice and one teaspoon of honey in curd and apply it on the scalp and after half an hour wash it off with warm water. Do this twice a week.  To prevent hair loss, mix well beaten egg with two tablespoons of curd, mix well, apply the mixture from the scalp to the ends of the hair and keep it covered for 30 minutes. After that, wash it off with shampoo.  Do this twice a week.  

   To prepare curd at home, boil one liter of milk thoroughly without adding water.  Boil the milk for 10 minutes on low flame.  After cooling, mix one tablespoon of thick curd with two tablespoons of milk and pour it into the milk.  Leave at room temperature for 10 to 12 hours.
