Indian Teens Who Impressed Nasa

Hey everyone, how are you all? Hope you all are doing fine. Today I was just going through my Instagram and I came across a story of some teens who apparently impressed NASA with their innovative idea.

So these teens belong from a school in Odisha and they beat over 70 teams from all over the world towin a competition to win a prestigious NASA award.

They built a rover that was awarded third. So NASA held a Human Exploration Rover Challenge. They were so proud of themselves that because of their ability and because of their hardwork, India's name is now there in the world rank three. Hundreds of students enrolled in the online “ Young Tinker Academy” a subsidiary of “ Navonmesh Prasar Foundation” in Bhubaneswar which imparts scientific education.

The team consisted of 10 members, who build the prize winning motorless rover which would be suitable to operate in the rough terrain of other planets such as Moon. This under 19 team included a cycle mechanic, a welder, a migrant labourer. Few of the students those who are in schools, applied, few of the students, those who are there in their villages, and the one's who wanted to be a part of this also joined. They basically were from schools and so didn't have knowledge on how to make this rover, so they trained and built this rover in six months in a remote village in Odisha.

They came up with parts that can used, like, parts of cars or autorickshaws, or parts of bicycles that were easily available in the market, and could be easily customised so that it would be used to make the rover. The challenge aligned with NASA'S Artemis Mission scheduled for 2024 which aims to send first women and next man to moon, and the rover was to be designed in such a manner that two people could use it at one time. Although the rovers made by students won't be deployed in the space, but their innovation would be used as an inspiration for the mission.

This is just a glimpse of one of the many achievements our teens and citizens make but not everything reaches us as there are a lot many important this for the media to cover. But things like these makes me feel proud to be born in a such a country, where there are no limits to your dreams and aspirations.

Thankyou.
